Bozal Guías de Calabaza is a vegetarian Sacrificio-tier mezcal made from 100% Espadín agave, distilled with pumpkin stems and seasonal fruits suspended in the still, produced by mezcaleros Don Adrian and Lucio Bautista in Río de Ejutla.

Bozal — Spanish for "wild" or "untamed" — sources agave from Oaxaca, Guerrero, and Durango. Part of the Sacrificio tier, this is a unique vegetarian offering that uses no protein during production. The agave is crushed by a bull-driven stone tahona, baked in earthen pits, fermented, and distilled. During the second distillation, pumpkin stems with seasonal fruit and grains — pineapple, plantain, orange, pumpkin seeds, and chepiche — are suspended in a basket inside the still.

Tasting Notes
